For the Love of Reading, Inc. – Central to the success of For the Love of Reading, Inc. is The Book Bug, a youth-led literacy initiative in Upson County that began with a single middle schooler’s passion for sharing books and has grown into a community-wide effort. The Book Bug drives impact through Little Free Libraries, Read and Share book distributions, StoryTime+ programs for caregivers, and a Book Club that fosters joyful reading. Supported by Upson County Family Connection as fiscal agent and a coalition of local partners, The Book Bug has shared more than 13,000 books in Thomaston since 2023, demonstrating the power of youth leadership and community collaboration in building a lasting local literacy ecosystem.
